Max Cooper is a UK producer/DJ that specializes in Eletronica and is rising up very fast in the genre. Max Cooper has done some incredible remixes transforming tracks into minimal but very complex organisms. His most notable remix is of Hot Chip's "I Feel Better" track which was a huge hit in the blogging world. For 11 years Max Cooper had a parallel life of being a Genetics Research student and a music producer and that its fairly clear that his studies have influenced his music. Max Cooper has previously produced a collection of music called "Serie" which are the product of his studies as a genetics researcher, with each track informed by abstract ideas about genetics, math and music. Harmonisch Serie riffs on the mathematical relation between notes, chords, and musical scales. Stochastisch Serie balances randomness against a listenable musical framework. And Chaotisch Serie observes how even the most random chaos can suddenly become ordered – and vice versa. Each track, also, was envisaged as a collaboration with Cooper’s old friend, the animator Andy Brewer, who it’s Brewer’s videos for each track that help to flesh out the ideas of chaos, randomness, harmony and genetic growth. Requiring significant mathematical rendering power to create the entirely artificial videos, each video hides its cleverness under low-fi, dusty surfaces and wobbly hand-held camera. Unsurprisingly, the videos have been Youtube hits with almost 100,000 views - as has the genetics-influenced "mutation through geometry" imagery of Max's website maxcooper.net, created by another designer, Ben Slater, and re-used for the cover of SERIES.
