Dark & Stormy - "VooDoo" EP

Tumblr_lj7xfpmxle1qztrv0o1_500
Nothing beats some good Tech House and Dark & Stormy has definiely delivered with his latest EP " VooDoo". The Boston producer Dark & Stormy embraces African World Music and uses everything from native African vocals, tribal drums, rainforest sounds, shakers and weaves these amazing sounds with the classic Tech House elements. By far the favourite from the EP is the track "African Witch Doctor" with its chilling vocals and multi layered structure. The progressively layerd track truly shines when Dark & Stormy mixes in the female vocals which fit perfectly with the subtle bassline and melody, which is driven by the tribal drums. Enough of me rambling on. You have to get this EP.

Dark & Stormy's "Voodoo" EP is available now from Beatport.

SCNTST - "Monday" EP

Artworks-000012650026-tz7h4y-o
Boysnoize Records has recently signed the 17 year old German Bryan Müller aka SCNTST and they have just dropped his debut EP "Monday". Bryan Müller was influenced by a critically acclaimed German movie about Techno nad within a year he a crafted his sound, which he calls "Advanced Techno". "Monday" is a tooly tech monster, its toms and clever percussive sounds make it a non-obvious rocker, easy to play at any time, very effective. "Beachboy" consolidates the suspicion, that his sounding is more than just new techno or house, it's futuristic, new funky German juke. The seduction of the ruminant pitched woman's voice repeating 'nasty' is giving goosebumbs. You end up in a black box, puzzled but releaved by the dissolving hard drum programming in the main part. "Globus" has a sharply defined, techy groove — simple, almost subliminal bassline fill and bright sample cuttings. Once it's speed up the drop out claims most of the mix's attention, leaving ravers time to breath and feel the tension. The last track of the EP "909 Time" is inspired by his heroes Lone and Legowelt. The Roland TR 909 as the main drum machine and a different approach to the powerful melody, SCNTST’s version is the playful dream version of its inspirational source.

SCNTST's debut EP "Monday" will be available from November 7th via Beatport.

Mickey Moonlight - "This Sun"

L_c7fa87a18ed84d008928d4a192b9

Ed Banger Records isnt all about party anthems and dropping French electro with every one of their releases. The other half of Ed Banger Records (Mickey Moonlight, Mr Oizo, Krazy Baldhead, Breakbot and Mr Flash) like to experiment and do things diffrently. The details are scarce at this stage but Mickey Moonlight is set to release a brand new EP "Close to Everything" very soon. Ed Banger Records dropped the track "This Son" via their Soundcloud page and its a refreshing sound compared to what they have released recently. The tracks summery feel is cemented with the Jamaican metal drums, bongo drums and the strange flute whining synth that weaves its way in.

ZZT - "Partys Over Los Angelas" EP

15ousew
The anticipation for ZZT's (Tiga and Zombie Nation) debut album "Partys Over Earth" is at boiling point and to keep the punters happy until November 11th, the boys have dropped another single from the album. "Partys Over Los Angeles" is built to be played at massive festival or an underground nightclub in the dark depths of Paris. The track is heavily influenced by Zombie Nations love of glitchy modulated synths, thumping basslines and out right randomness. Techno is an unforgiving genre and the boys have done an excellent job with this glitchy track.

Duke Dumont is a continually evolving talent, whose select discography offers as impressive a quality ratio as you’ll find anywhere. His stellar remix skills have been coveted by everyone from Lily Allen to Bat for Lashes. Dumont’s remix of ZZT is a winding, stripped-down snakecharmer designed to wipe warehouse dancefloors clean.

Meanwhile, Jon Convex - one half of the white-hot Instra:mental - serves up a version that reflects the vanguard of new-school UK-bass influenced techno.

ZZT's Partys Over Los Angelas EP will be available on the 25th of October. If your super keen ZZT will be releasing a limited edition of their debut album "Partys Over Earth" on cassete and it can be preorderd @ the Turbo Records Shop.

Zoo Brazil - "The Kill" EP

00-zoo_brazil-the_kill-tt003-w
Twin Turbo has served up their 3rd EP and the chef this time is Sweidsh born techno master Zoo Brazil. "The Kill" is a different take on the genre as it features some funk inspired percussions, a pushy bassline that brings and holds all the elements together perfectly. I always thinks its strange when producers remix their own track and Zoo Brazils remix really just bumps up the bpm ever so slightly. Zoo Brazil's "The Kill" EP is available now from Beatport.

Massive Attack vs Burial - "Four Walls / Paradise Circus"

Ma_vs_burial_mailout
Massive Attack and Burial have recently collaborated to produce the highly anticipated "Four Walls / Paradise Circus" vinyl. The remixes by Burial, as you would expect, are absolutley nothing like the originals and the remixes are built compltely from the ground up. Burial signature touch transforms the tracks into 12 minute works of art, and are given the right amount time and space to evolve and develop. The remixes go way beyond the scope of normal remixes and the end result are two highly original, in every sense of the word, pieces of music.

Pressed on heavyweight 180g 12” vinyl housed in a stunning, hand numbered, gold glitter screen-printed sleeve designed by Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja (3D), this edition has been crafted by The Vinyl Factory, and is sure to become a highly coveted collectors item.

Massive Attack vs Burial - "Four Walls / Paradise Circus" will be available through The Vinyl Factory and Massive Attack
